Chelsea is an area located along the river banks of Thames and is in the south-west London. It lies within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. Before 1965 when Greater London was established, the area was known as the Metropolitan Borough of Chelsea in the County of London.
The history of the area is long and rich. In 1536 the manor house was bought by King Henry VII and two of his wives used to live in it. And also Queen Elizabeth I once resided there.
